Mission:
Teen Voices is a non-profit organization whose mission is to further social and economic justice by empowering teenage and young adult women.General Description:
The energetic and committed Development Associate will report to the Development Director. This position is Ideal for any person who wishes to learn development work and to contribute with new ideas and experience.General Responsibilities:
* Maintain the donor and mailing databases, inputting and retrieving donation data and ensuring the accuracy of the database.
* Process all donations daily; receive and input donation information.
* Generate acknowledgments for all gifts to individual donors within 48 hours of receipt of gift. Work with other development staff and the Development Director to ensure that protocols for gift acknowledgments is maintained at all gift levels.
* Perform regular maintenance in the database, including updating donor records; processing account code and donation changes, and keeping organized paper records for reconciliations, audits and general hard copy history.The Development Associate will:
Membership/Individual Donors: Assist the Development Director with memberships and individual donors, including:
* Assist with direct mail correspondence and mailings including Annual Membership Renewals, Gift/Pledge follow-up Letters, Advisory Board Solicitations, Prospect Solicitations, and other mailings as required to members and donors with giving of $100 or more.
* Assist with all member requests, including customer service calls, agency claims, single issue inquiries, etc.
* Data Entry including, prospects, data clean-up and donor status updates.
* Documenting data and gift entry processes and gift reporting policies.Gift Entry & Database Management: Manage database entry, reporting and inquires including:
* Ensure accurate and timely gift entry and acknowledgment processing
* Update database with current gifts, pledges, payments on pledges, donor activities and contact, and information from online transactions and donations.
* Work with Finance Department to ensure accurate gift tracking.
* Act as point person for Teen Voices and Interns around all database entry, reporting and inquires.
* Oversee training of staff and interns on database. Familiarize and build knowledge/ experience necessary to navigating and trouble-shooting DonerPerfect.
* Assist with developing all polices and protocol for database use.
* Create all requested reports from DonerPerfect.Foundations: Assist the Development Director with grant writing, preparation and site visits, including:
* Editing and sending out “boilerplate” proposals.
* Preparing correspondence to funders.
* Organizing site visits from foundations and high donors.
* Conduct foundation and prospect research.
* Organizing data collection from other staff, as needed, for reports and proposals.Events: Assist Development Director with coordination of organizational development events including major annual event AMPLIFY!
Supervision:
* In coordination with the Program Coordinator, hire, orient, and evaluate development interns as appropriate.
* Work with Development Director to create and coordinate appropriate intern projects
* Supervise internsPerform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree required with 2+ years experience in the development field.
* Must be willing to learn DonorPerfect.
* Commitment to social and economic justice essential.
