Summer in the City
All year long, it is worth noting the enormous potential that summer holds for closing the achievement gap. Summer enrichment and education opportunities abound in the city: Boston offers almost 900 program opportunities and nearly 9,000 summer jobs for teenagers. 
This past summer Boston was fortunate to benefit from several new sources of funds, increasing the number of summer programs, of youth employment opportunities and of "summer-only" vouchers for eligible families with school-age children.
