Learning to Bridge–Bridging to Learn: A Model and Action Plan to Increase Engagement Between Schools and Afterschool Programs in Boston
This report is intended to clearly show how best to strengthen and support meaningful “bridging” between afterschool programs and schools throughout Boston, as well as between afterschool programs, families and community. The authors discuss the potential of afterschool programs for connecting the multiple, often fragmented worlds of children and adolescents, effective bridging practices, the different types of bridging intensity, and common challenges.
