  • What role do community-based partners play in delivering health, enrichment, academic and support services in Boston Public Schools?
  • How do schools coordinate their work with external partners?
  • How can the district maximize the impact of these partnerships on student outcomes?

The release of Schools at the Hub: Community Partnerships in the Boston Public Schools will detail results from the first-ever district-wide survey of school-community partnerships in Boston, including information from 93% of BPS principals/headmasters who identified close to 200 partner organizations working with BPS.

The report includes survey findings, pinpoints gaps, and provides recommendations to ensure school-community partnerships are strategic, aligned with student needs, integrated with district and school goals, equitably distributed across the student population, and coordinated effectively.

The event will include:
  • Presentation of report findings by Abby Weiss, Manager, Child and Youth Readiness Cabinet, Massachusetts Executive Office of Education; former Executive Director, Full-service Schools Roundtable
  • Remarks by Superintendent of Schools Carol R. Johnson
  • Panel Discussion with:
    • Carol R. Johnson, Superintendent of Schools
    • Marie St. Fleur, Chief of Advocacy and Strategic Investment, City of Boston
    • Robert Kilkenny, Executive Director, Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention
