Responsible Sports™ Community Grant
Sports are about so much more than winning. And sustaining youth sports programs takes more than just your valuable time and effort. That's why Liberty Mutual created the Responsible Sports Community Grants. The program helps provide precious financial resources – $2,500 grants – in recognition of local dedication to responsibility in communities across the country.
Any non-profit youth sports organization or educational athletic program can earn a Responsible Sports Community Grant, but an organization can only receive a grant once.
Twenty youth sport organizations with the most credited certifications will earn a Responsible Sports Community Grant to help defray the many costs of running a successful youth sports program. But don't think that just because you are a small organization you cannot earn a grant. Organizations are split into three groups or divisions.
The divisions for the Spring 2011 Responsible Sports Community Grant program are as follows:
Large organizations (100+ players)
Compete for one of seven (7) $2,500 grants
Small organizations (under 100 players)
Compete for one of seven (7) $2,500 grants
School/educational organizations (school athletic programs)
Compete for one of six (6) $5,000 grants
Organizations must be registered non-profit, traditional youth sport organizations or school athletic programs recognized by the governing bodies of their sport(s). Organizations must serve the community at large and must be open to the general public, without bias, prejudice or discrimination regarding participation, and must be registered with Responsible Sports.
The Spring grant periods begin on March 1st - May 31st and the Fall grant periods will go from September 1st - November 30th.
