“A six-hour day is simply not enough for many of our students. Our community partners can help us offer additional learning time to engage and motivate students and reinforce the lessons of the school day.” ~Superintendent Carol R. Johnson, A Decade of Achievement

The purpose of the Boston Youth Sports Initiative (BYSI) is to promote youth sports as a positive youth development and physical fitness approach through network building. The BYSI was created for the network of providers and supporters of youth sports all over the city.

Youth Development through Rugby in Boston: Play Rugby USA!

Play Rugby USA has delivered a transformational sports education experience to urban youth for nearly 10 years. Founded in New York in 2003, this sports based youth development program has delivered their programming to over 200 schools and community based organizations in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C., and now they are working their way to Boston. With so few opportunities for Boston's more than 75,000 youth to play rugby, Play Rugby USA should be a nice addition to the City's field of sport.
